Vineyard

This wine is 100% Clone 777. The grapes are grown in block 118, one of the best in our Carneros vineyard. This block is marked by its well-draining alluvial soils, which result in low-vigor vines with small berries. As a result the finished wine have intense color and fruit flavor as well as a remarkably rich mid-palate.

Tasting Notes

Bing cherry, Santa Rosa plum, bittersweet chocolate, cocoa powder aromas mingle with traces of cinammon, violet and lavendar aromas. The palate has focused cherry and pomegranate flavors with minerality and well integrated supple tannins.

Food and Wine Pairing

Grilled salmon with a soy-miso marinade would be a good match for this robust Pinot. It can stand up to flavorful foods , such as flatiron steak with chimichurri sauce or short ribs cooked in tomato sauce.
