Not to be indiscreet, but what are you doing for Valentine’s Day? If you haven’t made plans yet, here are some hints for impressing your sweetheart without leaving the comfort of home. A few decorative touches, a round of sparkling cocktails, a gourmet recipe, and you’ll be on your way to a very romantic evening...
Sparkling cocktails—loosely defined as beverages featuring sparkling wine, either as a complementary ingredient to add pizazz or as the drink’s raison d'être—are very likely as old as sparkling wine itself. It’s not hard to imagine two monks named Dom Perignon and Jean Oudart,...
In a perfect world, everyone would join us at Domaine Chandon for New Year's Eve, but—sadly—it’s not always possible to spend the holidays in Napa Valley. So what’s the next best thing? To be here in spirit at midnight on that joyful evening by hosting a Chandon-style soirée. Just like life needs bubbles, a successful New Year’s Eve party needs a few creative pointers to keep the festivities festive:
Whether you’re planning an intimate evening in or a stylish night on the town this Valentine’s Day, there are three crucial ingredients to any Cupid-worthy affair—you, your significant other and Chandon wine.
With winter finally making its retreat and milder days upon us, it’s time to head to the garden, clear off the back deck and start prepping for al fresco season. You’ll be firing up the barbeque and bringing out the shaker for sparkling summer cocktails before you know it. So a little preparation will go a long way!
Summer means many things—longer days, pleasantly warm nights and the season of rosé wine among them—but one of our favorite fair weather traditions is the start of picnic season. For our money, the combo of fresh air, a blanket to recline on, a simple meal of artisanal food and a glass of Chandon is hard to beat.
As summer stretches into August and the days continue to grow even hotter, things are cooking at étoile Restaurant, too. Following Chef Perry Hoffman’s second James Beard Award nomination—one of the culinary world’s most distinguished honors—earlier this year, étoile Restaurant has recently picked up some impressive nods, as well.
Every October, Chandon throws our annual Pink Party, where food, drink and guests’ attire all come in hues of pink, and proceeds benefit the National Breast Cancer Foundation. Unfortunately, not everyone can make the trip to Napa Valley to join us for this stylish soirée. Nonetheless, that doesn’t mean you can’t host a Chandon-style Pink Party at the trendiest spot in town—your place.
For Domaine Chandon’s 2011 New Year’s Eve party, we’ll be ringing in 2012 at the winery by partying like it’s 1959. We’re rolling back the clock, and rolling out the red carpet, with an Old Hollywood-style ball. étoile Restaurant Chef Perry Hoffman—fresh off his restaurant receiving its third consecutive Michelin one-star rating—will be preparing an exquisite five-course tasting menu, expertly paired with sparkling and still wines. Live music, a sparkling toast at midnight, and a roomful of vintage Hollywood-inspired finery—what’s not to love?
When the calendar flips from January to February, pulses quicken, Cupid’s arrows fly forth from their quiver, and Valentine’s Day plans get made from coast to coast. Boxes of chocolates and bouquets of roses? Of course. That’s entry-level stuff. But this year, we at Chandon have been thinking about raising the bar on romance.
