Domaine Chandon On Call Tasting Room Host

The On Call Tasting Room Host is responsible for communicating the uniqueness of Domaine Chandon through a consistent and impactful Brand message, while exhibiting excellence in customer service, in order to create a world class experience for every guest.


Create a High-Quality Visitor Experience: (60%)

- Represent our wines and brand in a friendly and professional manner.

- Perform wine service, food service, tastings, and wine education in a brand consistent manner.

- Consistently discuss food and wine pairings, highlighting Chandon food and wine benefits.

- Promote Etoile Restaurant, winemaker dinners, and other restaurant events; refer all guests to Etoile for lunch and dinner.

- Convey Club Chandon benefits to all visitors with clarity and sincerity.

- Sell Club Chandon wine club memberships, striving to improve personal as well as team sign-up performance.

- Achieve and exceed Club Chandon acquisition goals on both team and personal levels.

- Attend all bi-weekly VC meetings in order to stay updated with goals, new releases, new programs, and all other educational materials.

- Read daily communication log for updates and announcements

- Maintain a positive "can do" attitude at all times, supporting all members of the team in various situations.

- Required to participate in the planning, set up, execution, and/or break down of DCC events.



Efficient Service Support: (30%)

- Operate point-of-sale system with accuracy through completing all transactions, providing correct change, and accurately ringing credit transactions.

- Maintain clean and well-stocked Tasting Bar, during prep, throughout service and close-down.

- Keep ALL tables clear of glassware and service ware, wiped clean for visiting guests.

- Stock wine and keep accurate daily inventories.

- Assist in set up and break down of public, private, and group tours.



Set-up and Close-down: (10%)


- Follow opening checklist, ensuring that all tasks are completed in a timely manner and the Tasting Salon is fully cleaned, stocked, and ready for guests by opening time.

- Initiate closing tasks and follow closing checklist ensuring that all closing tasks are performed, and the Tasting Salon is clean, stocked and ready for the opening staff.

Education : High School Diploma

Languages : Fluent in English language, second language helpful in communication with visiting public.

Professional experience & know how:

At least 2 years in wine education/hospitality industry.

Communicate through active listening skills and gather accurate insights to human behavior.

Technical & management skills:
Complete multiple tasks with accuracy and urgency.
Assesses situations quickly and responds with appropriate action, taking initiative to problem-solve, if necessary.
Able to process point-of-sale functions and comprehends mathematics to complete customer transactions.
Leads others, by example and makes decisions based on the needs of the business.

Personal & interpersonal skills:
Works efficiently and follows company standards, with or without immediate supervision.
Possesses knowledge of principles and processes for providing exceptional visitor experiences.
Continues to strive for excellence from own performance and remains self-motivated to improve results, both in selling and productivity.

Domaine Chandon On-Call Retail Associate

The On-Call Retail Associate is responsible for communicating the uniqueness of Domaine Chandon through a consistent Brand message, while exhibiting excellence in customer service, in order to create a world-class experience for every guest.

Main Responsibilities


1. Provide a High-Quality Visitor Experience (50%)

- Welcome all guests immediately upon entering the Visitor Center with a genuine, courteous, professional tone and manner which reflects the Chandon Savvy World Class message.

- Explain and direct in detail all information pertaining to our tours, tastings, restaurant and events.

- Inform guests about Club Chandon's benefits and rewards.

- Assist guests with questions about wine and merchandise while using excellent up selling techniques.

- Keep Retail Deptartment clean, organized and fully stocked at all times.

- Efficiently ring guest sales on POS system.

- Efficiently process shipping orders

- Required to participate in the set up, execution, and/or breakdown of events at DCC.


2. Product Sales / Efficient, Productive and Positive Work Ethic (50%)


- Sell merchandise and wine to guests, up-selling at all times.

- Use up-selling techniques to meet monthly incentive goals.

- Display proficiency as a cashier using AMS point of sale.

- Take phone and shipping orders.

- Sell Club Chandon wine club memberships, striving to improve personal as well as team sign-up performance.

- Achieve and exceed Club Chandon acquisition goal on both team and personal levels.

- Handle currency accurately and securely.

- Balance and close out cash drawers and registers accurately

- Participate in month-end and quarter-end inventory.

- Check in, ticket, fold, arrange, and display new merchandise to promote sales.

- Clean shelves, counters, tables with daily dusting and organizing.

- Maintain merchandise on-floor stock levels throughout the day.

- Examine merchandise to ensure that it's correctly priced, displayed and functioning.

- Follow daily schedules, duties and policies with diligence and efficiency.

- Maintain a team oriented and positive attitude at all times.


Qualifications

Education : High School Diploma

Languages : Fluent in English language, second language helpful in communication with visiting public, but not required.

Professional experience & know how :


- Two years retail sales and wine related experience.

- One to two years computerized register experience.

- Strong communication skills with visiting groups of all sizes.

- Communicate through active listening skills and open ended questions to gather immediate and accurate insight into guest needs.

- Skill in actively looking for ways to help people.

- Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, selling products or services.

- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service.

- Knowledge of Napa Valley wine and food.

- Ability to work as a team player.

- Is a self-starter and asks what can be done, doesn't wait to be told.

- Ability to speak clearly so others can understand you.

- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide quickly and accurately.

- Ability to see details at close range, within a few feet of observer.

- Ability to stand on your feet for a full shift.

- Work indoors and outdoors with the public.



Technical & management skills:


- Strong computer and phone skills.

- Microsoft Office, AMS, multi-line phone system.

- Ability to multi-task with accuracy and urgency.

Domaine Chandon Ambassador

Domaine Chandon is seeking a Chandon Ambassador

Reporting to the Visitor Center Manager, the Domaine Chandon Ambassador to communicate the uniqueness of Domaine Chandon and Newton Vineyard, through a consistent and impactful Brand message, while exhibiting excellence in customer service, in order to create a world-class experience for every guest.

The Domaine Chandon Ambassador will be responsible to:

Create a High-Quality Visitor Experience:  (60%)


• Represent our wines and Brand in a friendly, professional manner both at the winery and in the market.

• Perform wine service and tastings for all visitors including wine trade and VIP's, in a Brand-consistent manner.

• Facilitate scripted tour, adding consistent quality to delivery and accuracy of message.

• Safely escort tours through tour route, adjusting to the needs of the winery.

• Consistently discuss benefits of food with wine, up selling and recommending food purchase in the Salon as well as reservations at étoile restaurant.

• Suggest multiple-bottle purchases, in addition to adding-on merchandise to each sale.

• Convey all levels of club benefits to all visitors with clarity and sincerity.

• Meet monthly club acquisition goals, consistently striving to improve personal sign-up performance.

 

Efficient Service and Staff Support:  (40%)


• Operate point-of-sale system with accuracy in sales, shipping, and inventory management.

• Follow assigned Set up and Break down schedules in tasting rooms

• Re-stock wine, glassware and operational supplies as needed

• Maintain clean and well-stocked Tasting Room.

• Participate in set up and clean up of tours and tastings

• Stock wine and merchandise, daily. Keep accurate daily wine inventories, including breakage.

• Participate in monthly inventories

• Communicate with VC management and Promotions Coordinator weekly regarding supply and wine ordering

• Wash and dry glassware and food service utensils, according to health-code standards.

• Execute 100% accuracy cash reconciliation and deposit delivery to bank.

• Required to participate in a lead capacity at DCC events.
