Wine Club and E-Commerce Representative

Contribute to the growth of the wine club and e-commerce business for Newton Vineyard , and as needed for Domaine Chandon, by developing rapport with wine club members and providing superior customer service, driving sales, member and email list acquisition, member retention, and data management support.

Overview:

This individual reports to the manager of wine club and e-commerce and shares responsibility for reaching the goals of the Newton Vineyard and Domaine Chandon e-Commerce and Wine Club teams including, customer service, sales, member and e-mail list acquisition, member retention, customer growth, data management and revenue goals.

 

Customer Service (85%)Develop rapport with wine club members and provide outstanding customer service in keeping with a premium luxury winery. Follow up with customers and respond, resolve customer inquiries via e-commerce, voicemail, phone, email, written correspondence, or in person.. Proactively resolve customer inquiries within one business day regarding sales, custom club orders, returns, shipment tracking, damaged shipments, declined credit cards, credit card disputes, change of address, club membership cancellation requests, e-Commerce orders, accessing Club-Chandon.com, and tour reservations, etc. Respond within one business day to e-mail inboxes and voice mail.. Maintain current and comprehensive knowledge of all wine Offerings Retain club members who wish to cancel membership Promote sales/upsell customers through product and promotion knowledge and enthusiasm   Represent the company at club events and provide support as needed.Respond to inquiries from Hospitality staff regarding club membership offerings and shipped orders Maintain and build solid working relationships with internal and external business partners

  

Data Coordination (15%)

Accurately add data and maintain CRM database and customer records in an effort to provide superior customer service and track results Process orders into eWinery solutions, or related systems Insure that all wine orders are run through compliance software and follow through on non-compliant orders Assist with system integrations and contribute ideas to systems and process improvements and efficiencies as well as ideas that will enhance the customer experience

 

Miscellaneous

Assist with any department-related tasks or projects and other duties as assigned. Assist with direct sales inventory maintenance, replenishment, reviewing, tracking and reconciliation as needed

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

General office environment

Working several days each week at Newton Vineyard in Saint Helena with the remaining days of the work week at Domaine Chandon’s administrative offices in Yountville..

Education: College degree preferred or applicable experience 

 

Languages: English required 

 

Professional experience & know how: Customer service experience is required.

Customer and sales centricity is key.  Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Detail-orientation, self-motivation, proactive problem solving, follow-through and ability to work with limited supervision are vital to the success of this position.

 

Technical & management skills:

Ability to use application software to perform administrative role including eWinery Solutions, Excel, Word, SAP and Lotus Notes or Microsoft Outlook.  Ability to multi-task using telephone, computer and written communications. 

 

Personal & interpersonal skills:

Strong team player, excellent communication skills both within and outside of the organization, positive and enthusiastic attitude.

Maintenance Mechanic

The Maintenance Mechanic implements facility maintenance services for Domaine Chandon and Newton Vineyard in accordance with the preventive maintenance, aesthetics and safety programs.

~~Production Maintenance: (60%)• Maintains functional knowledge of all production equipment operation.• Responsible for performing production line changeovers and adjustments in a timely manner.• Understands and can troubleshoot electrical schematics, PLC programming and electrical controls.• Responsible for troubleshooting electrical and mechanical problems.• Conduct fabrication of replacement parts with a lathe and milling machine or welder.• Responsible for maintaining a clean work area, including proper care and storage of tools.• Performs Preventative Maintenance (PM’s) on all production equipment as directed by work orders.• Responsible for disassembling machinery and equipment to remove parts and make repairs.  Conducts testing on repaired machinery to verify adequacy of repairs.• Responsible for examination of parts for defects, such as breakage or excessive wear.• Complies with all safety requirements, company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements to maintain a safe working environment.

 Facility Maintenance: (40%)• Conduct plumbing, lighting and electrical repairs as needed.• Responsible for performing carpentry work as needed.• Conduct maintenance and repair of facility HVAC equipment.• Perform general building maintenance such as painting and basic repairs.• Create drawings and material lists for projects.• Responsible for perform basic welding to repair equipment and appliances as needed.• Responsible for testing and maintaining process wastewater and fresh water systems.• Responsible for maintaining chemicals in approved containers, report any spills and clean up if approved.

 

~~Education: High School or GED required. Must have valid California driver’s license.

Languages: English

Professional experience & know how:• 3 to 5 years in Wine, Food or Soft Drink maintenance skills• Experience in electrical, plumbing, welding and general building maintenance.

Technical & management skills:• Electrical and mechanical skills• PLC programming• Read and understand schematics• General machine shop skillsPersonal & interpersonal skills:• Ability to work as a team leader on some projects and as team member on others• Must be self-motivated and able to recognize items that need improvement.

Newton Ambassador

Newton Vineyard is seeking for a Newton Ambassador.

 

Tours, Tastings and Retail Sales (65%)

Represent Newton products and the brand in a friendly, professional manner. Deliver tours and tastings to visitors as required on the work schedule (includes consumers and trade visitors) Serve and discuss wines and wine tasting comparisons and profiles. Discuss food and wine combinations. Operate AMS point-of sale system, receiving either cash or credit card. May include travel as Newton Ambassador for trade events.

 

Operations (25%)

Conduct monthly wine inventory of Retail wines and merchandise Update pricing, products and functionality (shipping and tax  tables etc) in AMS. Follow-up on customer inquiries regarding charges or shipments purchased at Newton Sales analysis/reporting etc. Facilities management - coordination vendors such as window washer, janitorial, linens, glass rental, contractors for building updgrades etc. Process vendor invoices

 

Set-up and Close Down (10% of time)

Set-up tasting layout and clear afterwards Stocking of wine, glassware, and Salon operational supplies. Submit daily batch via AMS POS.

 

Education : High School Diploma 

 

Languages : Fluent in English language, second language helpful in communication with visiting public.

 

Professional experience & know how :

At least 2 years experience in wine education / hospitality industry. Public-speaking and facilitation to large groups skills. Communicate through active-listening skills and gather accurate insights to human behavior. Knowledge of Wine and Food pairings. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service and staff associates needs. Knowledge of mathematics in order to process administrative and point-of sale portion of position.

 

Technical & management skills :

Must be able to speak to large groups. Actively looking for ways to help our guests.

Harvest Cellar Worker 2015

Position Description:

Handle grape/juice deliveries.

Operate presses and crushers. Drive forklift Perform routine operation of pumps and filters to rack, transfer, and clarify juice and wine. Perform chemical additions to juice and wine. Perform direct inoculation of yeast to juice. Set both manual and automatic tank temperature controls. Perform routine barrel work: S02 adds, topping, stirring, racking, and filling. Collect wine/juice samples and general support for the laboratory. Exposure to complex cellar equipment: Cross flow, STARS.

Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or GED required.

Languages: English required

Professional experience & know how:

- Minimum 1 year winery cellar experience.

- Knowledge or ability to learn safe cellar practices, including safe handling of chemicals

- Knowledge of winery cellar operating procedures

- Ability to be trained in confined space entry process and procedures

- Ability to drive a forklift and become forklift certified.

Technical & management skills:

- Ability to understand and perform basic math.

- Ability to understand and perform basic measurements.

Personal & interpersonal skills: Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
